World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The item upgrade allows players to boost an item's gear rating up 700 points and also add a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you take them to the kiln.
Certain items can be upp'd to benefit from their unique stats (like an ideally made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) and others, like weapons, do not change significantly after an upgrade, so they aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Some weapons also have an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a unit. In certain instances, this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon is able to upgrade by itself.
A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For example, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons can also change the stats of their base. While this is generally a good thing, it can have some negative effects as well. Upgrades can render items unusable, unless you are very lucky.
Items of armor can also be upgraded to improve their stats. In the case of chests or helms this will increase its base defense while a belt and gloves will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it is able to roll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats it will gain after upgrading along with the relative value of those stats. This means that an upgrade from a sword with 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving 3% of attack damage. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will be hit for 3 times less often as it is an absolute statistic.
A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button, which is accompanied by circling arrows in the menu for items. This will reroll an item and alter its stats but it will not reset the weapon's levels, or bind it to account status.
Armor
Making a few improvements to your armor could make a an enormous difference in your ability to endure. Certain sets can offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poisons fire, magic, and other. This can make it easier to navigate difficult areas. In general, the greater defense you have on your character, the more health you will get from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game, and to unlock each one you have to complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've done the main side quest and mastered the fountain that corresponds and then you can speak to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrade menu.
The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. It is possible to use anything between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For instance the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a decent-sized group of enemies in most cold climates, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, giving you enough protection to withstand a full on raid with a handful of friends.
You can't upgrade your armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or the power of spells. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for armor you'll wear at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you wear for the final boss battle, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
You can also gain benefits to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades to the chest armor and helmets to allow you to escape some monsters.
Potions
Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed provide the user with a temporary status effect. There are five types of potions, each with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, increasing the effectiveness of their effects. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.
Upgrades to potion require a certain amount of XP. This can be obtained through crafting them on a craft table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion used and the item's rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI that lets you choose the potion that you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they will give you when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP that they generate will be added to your current XP level.
When a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade until you make use of it again or break the bottle within which it is kept. You can also rename the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the way potions are used. For instance splash potions now have the duration of 0:08 (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display of the item). The table for potion can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Trinkets

Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they're no longer useful and allows players to boost their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players which makes them an attractive alternative to gold.
Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, then their secondary items and finally, other pieces of gear that will not be replaced in the near future (for example, a ring or cloak). When deciding which items to upgrade players should also take into account their class's preferred statistics. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players and they want to upgrade their chest, helm, and shoulders.
Once they have become useless trinkets are able to be upgraded to a greater level. item upgrading has an additional 1percent bonus. However, a re-upgrade will ruin the previous trinket until it is saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than buying an entirely new trinket.
